Meet Our Director of Youth Ministry, Jordan Shive.

Hi I'm Jordan Shive and I am very excited to be a part of the staff of Eagle River Presbyterian Church. I was born in Huancayo, Peru, was adopted as an infant, and was blessed with a very loving family. I was raised in Green Bay, WI, so I am an ever-loyal Packer fan. I can and will support the Broncos as long as they are not playing the Packers! I graduated in 2013 from Jamestown College with a BA in Fine Arts Music. In 2016 I started working on my MDiv at Fuller Seminary through the online program. I am thankful for this opportunity to serve Christ among you. I’m looking forward to sharing the love of God wherever I can. Philippines 3:20 and Ephesians 4:11-13 have been significant verses in my life. The two passages tell us where our true citizenship lies, and where our eternal rest will be.

WE BELIEVE GOD WANTS TO RADICALLY CHANGE YOUR LIFE THROUGH A RELATIONSHIP
WITH HIS SON, JESUS.
WITH HIS SON, JESUS.
Our Vision
We are committed to helping both youth and families grow deeper in faith. Each of our programs has been designed with youth in mind, to foster spiritual growth through Loving God, Loving Others, and Serving the World. We want each of our youth to have a memorable experience in their teenager years, and to develop a lifelong faith.
Deep Spiritual Friendship
At the center of our vision is developing “deep spiritual friendships” with every teenager. Programs are necessary tools in youth ministry but a hundred hours’ worth of programing does not compare to the impact of an adult investing in youth as a mentor.
We ask our volunteers to spend time pursuing deep spiritual friendships with our students.

Parents
We are not here to replace you but support you. We believe parents are the greatest influence in the life of a teen. We are here to supplement the discipleship that the students are getting at home (Proverbs 22:6, Eph. 6:4).
Our hope is that we partner as a team to raise up students who know and follow Jesus, are being changed by Him and are committed to His cause.

WHY WE SERVE
- Student Ministry is every effort by the Christian community to reach out to the students with the love of God as revealed to us in Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.
- Student Ministry is designed to help spiritually train and equip teens in a fun and Godly atmosphere to the Glory of God.
- Student ministry is more than programs and events.
- Student Ministry is a church-wide ministry which strives to provide a variety of opportunities and experiences to draw teens into active, responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the faith community and the greater church.
