Emma Kate Lander moved to Eagle County in 2025 from Baltimore, MD, where she grew up, and her parents still reside. She is a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Annapolis, where she was deeply involved in the youth group and held a youth leadership role. She began to discern her call to ministry while studying at Susquehanna University. Although she originally intended to study Music Education, Emma Kate quickly realized that God was calling her to shape the hearts and minds of young people in a different way. Emma Kate graduated from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in May 2025 with her Master of Divinity, where she received the Sylvester S. Marvin Fellowship for post-graduate study to the highest standard in coursework across the curriculum, the Middlesex United Presbyterian Church (Presbyterian Church, U.S.A.) Memorial Prize in Biblical Studies, and the William B. Watson Prize in Hebrew.
She is passionate about exploring faith with children and youth, and is eager to witness the young people of this congregation discover where God is at work in the world around them. When not at the church, you can find Emma Kate reading, drinking iced coffee, bathing in the sun, hiking, or doing yoga.
