Brett Gudeman

Brett Gudeman is the kind of pastor you feel like you already know. As a parent and person, he’s easy to relate to, and he has a gift for making Scripture come alive in a way that feels personal and relevant. When Brett preaches, it often feels like the message was written just for you. Through his down-to-earth style and love for God’s Word, we continue to live into our calling as a church where God’s love speaks, stirs purpose, and changes lives.

Brett grew up in Tucson, Arizona, and studied Religion at Northwestern College before earning his Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. While there, he received the C. Frederick and Cleta R. Mathias Memorial Award for his promise in pastoral ministry and leadership in worship.

He’s currently working on his doctorate at Union Presbyterian Seminary. Before coming to Eagle River Presbyterian Church, Brett served as associate pastor and acting head of staff at First Presbyterian Church in Huntsville, Alabama.

Brett and his wife, Ally, have two young daughters. On a day off, you’ll likely find him at one of the valley’s parks with his family or out on a trail run with an audiobook in his ears. He enjoys all kinds of literature, especially Russian authors, fantasy, and stories centered on family life (think Steinbeck or Wendell Berry).

If you’d ever like to connect, feel free to reach out to the church office or email Pastor Brett—he’d love to meet you. One of the things he loves most about Eagle River Presbyterian Church is the shared desire to show compassion, not just within our walls, but out in the community. We’re not perfect people, but we’re committed to walking together in love, offering grace, and growing in Christ side by side.
